Markus Schwarzenböck

Executive Vice President HR, Siemens AG

I'm the EVP Global HR Business Partners for Siemens. In my position I'm heading all Global Business Partner (HR BP) at Siemens. An HR BP supports our Divisions or Business Units on a global scale, derives a People strategy from the business strategy, implements the People strategy and acts as a coach and trusted partner to the top management. We are aiming for being truly global thinkers, strategic positioner/entrepreneurs, credible activists and change champions in order to tackle all business challenges in today’s VUCA world.

My behavior and decision are mainly influenced by my believe that HR can make a difference to the business and is one of the most powerful positions in a company because in all what we do inspiring, motivated and passionate people make the (almost) impossible possible. Throughout my professional life I have always been interested in how people and organizations work and think. I'm not afraid of challenges, it even motivates me more than "business as usual", therefore continuous change has been a core element and core interest of my professional life . My views are influenced by my rather big family :-) and the passion I have experienced in many kind of sports. All of the above is the source for my innovative thinking and my own energy.

"I believe that mindset and entrepreneurial thinking are essential parts of a successful Global HR business partner. Combined with passion for business, culture and change the role as an HR BP can really make a difference in particular in people decisions, which are the core for success."
